Kim and I were high school sweethearts at Sandalwood HS in Jacksonville, FL (Go Saints!). We started dating in June 1986 (I was a senior and she was a sophomore). In August 1986, I left for the US Army. We maintained a 2 year long distance relationship, seeing each other on holidays and when I could get away from base and back to Florida. Kim graduated in June 1988 and we eloped in July 1988. We spent our first year of marriage at Fort Bragg, NC.
