- akg-images ('Archiv für Kunst und Geschichte' - Art and History Archive) was founded in Leipzig, Germany, in November 1945 as a press photography agency by the journalist and art collector Wilfried Göpel. The akg head office is now based on the western outskirts of Berlin (photograph right). A London office (photograph below) was opened in 1994 and in 1995 akg Photothèque was opened in Paris.
