Formed in 1985, and reorganized as a freestanding cooperative in 1991, APSC is a buying group owned and operated by independent pharmacies. Each pharmacy becomes a shareholder in APSC by purchasing one share of stock from the company (see below). By purchasing this share of stock, APSC members are entitled to receive dividends paid by the cooperative. A nine member Board of Directors governs APSC.
