- AA Federal Credit Union was started in 1960 by a group of men who were employed at Alcan Aluminum. They pooled their money to start Alcan Aluminum Employees Federal Credit Union. They had the desire to help people. They opened Membership Share Accounts and paid High Interest Dividends and gave loans when the members were in need and charged a lower interest rate to make them affordable. This is the whole meaning of Credit Unions. "People Helping People". This is what we do on a daily basis. This is what we have been doing for 47 years. We cannot do this without you, your fellow workers and your family members. Tell them what your credit union has done for you and tell them that they need to be a owner of their Credit Union.
