AboutUs est un wiki dont le but est de créer une ressource internet libre et valable contenant de l'information tant à propos des sites wet que des autres sujets créés par les communautés. Le site a été pré-rempli avec de l'information concernant beaucoup de sites web différents et des milliers de mises à jour sont désormais produites chaque jour par les personnes.

La vision d'AboutUs s'articule sur le pouvoir de collaboration et la capacité unique de la technologie wiki pour saisir la venue des communautés.

Le fait qu'il n'y ait aucune ressource unique est aussi puissant que celle de pouvoir forer dans la connaissance de chaque visiteur, AboutUs se tient debout et au centre comme l'une des ressources d'information les plus valables sur le web. As a member of the development department, the Systems Administrator will report to the CTO and will work closely with the Software Developers and Community Development groups. Tout le monde peut éditer le wikiAboutUs. C'est la façon dont AboutUs peut forer à l'intérieur de la connaissance de quiconque choisit de contribuer. Cela laisse néanmoins AboutUs vulnérable aux attaques de spam. Afin de protéger l'intégrité de la ressource et s'engager avec les éditeurs, AboutUs patrouille chaque édition produite sur ses plus de 4 millions de pages. Fin janvier 2007, les éditions par jour ont passé la barre des 1000. Début avril 2007, il y avait plus de 3000 éditions par jour. AboutUs s'engage à patrouiller chacune de ces éditions et à accueillir personnellement chaque nouvel éditeur qui s'enregistre. Toutes les éditions anonymes sont les bienvenues mais AboutUs encourage la construction de communauté. La première étape dans cette construction de communauté est d'accueillir chaque nouveau visiteur.
