- Your hosts, Joanne and Pax Northover, have lived in Golden Bay for 30 years and have a good knowledge of the area having been involved in the motel trade before. Joanne has come back into the accommodation industry having worked on the front counter of the Department of Conservation (DOC) in Takaka for the last 17 years. She is familiar with most of the DOC estate in Golden Bay including the two National Parks and Farewell Spit. Pax is currently employed at Fonterra Dairy Co-operative in Takaka and having been in commercial fishing when first arriving in the Bay, retains a keen interest in the boating and fishing world.
