Huening identified a pressing need for quality repair services for the heating service trade.During the early years, Acme was a "custom repair shop" strictly for the Chicago area. Service professionals typically brought failed controls into Acme's northwest side repair facility and Acme technicians would repair that exact same unit. This "repair and return" methodology often resulted in 2-3 days of customer downtime and is the prevalent technique for most repair shops today.
