Advancing Charter Schools was created by Dr. Jonnie Gallinger and Christanna Hang. The company was born from the realization that there is an urgent need for local cultures and communitites to be recognized. Many students are lost to their heritage because of the public school systems inability to allow students to learn and understand their culture. Mrs. Hang is the founder of Hmong Academy, a K-12 charter school that opened in the fall of 2004 with over 250 students.
