- CDG, the Newport based design charity received funding for three years from the National Lottery Charities Board to establish the Agoriad Project. This is a national database of community designers - architects, surveyors, planners, graphic designers and landscape architects, who are able to offer their professional design services to community and voluntary organisations, looking for help with their particular design project.
- As well as establishing the national database, the Agoriad Project has organised a programme of training for both the voluntary sector and professional designers - covering issues such as funding, community design, community participation and best practice. A training manual is also being prepared for use by voluntary agencies.
