- Air Milford was established in 1993. The name Air Milford is derived from one of New Zealand's most spectacular Fiords on the South Islands West Coast, Milford Sound.
- Hank Sproull joined the company in 1996 and took over as owner of the business in 1998. He continues to maintain a close involvement with the day to day management of the company.
