- Oslo, 1855: Jacob Michael Breien founded a factory for blanket-, pillow- and clothing filings. Much has happened in the traditional Norwegian company since then: From the first expedition to the north pole (1889) by Fridtjof Nansen, who developed the first extreme sleeping back together with Ajungilak to countless expeditions to the 8000m summits of the Himalaya, where for many years already sleeping bags manufactured by Ajungilak belong to the stand equipment of experienced mountaineers and climbers.
