Anna Kaminska was born in Poland, and was active in experimental and underground theater before immigrating to America in 1984. In the process of getting a BFA at the San Francisco Art Institute, she discovered her passion for photography. She has done book covers, worked as the staff photographer for a marine biology research voyage in search of blue whales, taught middle school photography, and documented archeological sites in Peru.
