- Alfrank Designs Ltd was founded by architect Alfred Cochrane and Businessman Frank Carroll in 1984. From a converted mill in central Dublin, it started by supplying US showrooms and designers with one off sculptural pieces of furniture and accessories.
- Among the many showrooms where Alfrank furniture was available were Baker Knapp and Tubbs showrooms in all major cities in the USA. This furniture was designed for the most exclusive echelons of the market and was considered cutting edge, in design terms.
