Alberta Keys began in 1980 as a project for the Alberta 75th Birthday Commission. A book of 47 piano pieces by 17 Alberta composers was the result. The company name comes from the title of this book, Alberta Keys. We incorporated as a company in 1983 and published three piano books, Rainbows, Freckles, and Charms, the following year. In 1985 Alberta Keys published a book of songs, Whims, by Western Canadian composers. From 1985 to 1990, Alberta Keys published two or three titles each year.[[Category:]]
