- ALEXANDERWERK AG was founded by Alexander von der Nahmer in Remscheid, Germany in 1885. It began life as an iron foundry with mechanical workshops manufacturing small machines and apparatus for a variety of industries, as well as some domestic equipment and appliances.
- As the company grew demand for the iron foundry diminished and it was eventually closed. The company has since developed into an internationally renowned and sought-after engineering business concentrating on the development and manufacture of special machines and equipment for the chemical, pharmaceutical and allied industries,as well as food machines.
