Alidad, the international designer, based in London has a reputation for "haute luxe," a richly textured, eclectic presentation that combines the sophistication of an English gentlemen's club with the rustic glamour of a Venetian palazzo.
He spent seven years working at Sotheby's as departmental director for the Islamic Works of Art and Textiles division. His interiors are rich and sumptuous, with boldly patterned fabrics, antique textiles and large scale antique furniture.
Alidad was awarded Best Interior Designer at the British Interior Design Exhibition by House & Garden, World of Interiors and Elle Decoration as well as Best Product of the Year by The World of Interiors.
In 2004 Interior Designer Alidad, launched his first range of furniture. Produced in conjunction with furniture designer Thomas Messel, the Velvet Furniture Collection is formed of glamorous, opulent pieces that combine baroque-influenced shapes in leather and bronze with dramatic studded velvet.
