Offering compassionate care and comfort to people with life-limiting illnesses has been the mission of Alive Hospice since 1975 when area physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, clergymen, nurses, philosophers, and bereaved persons first held informal discussions regarding issues facing people who were coping with dying, death, and grief.

Since Alive Hospice was first granted a charter as a nonprofit organization, the Agency has undergone many changes, including the addition of The Residence at Alive Hospice, a full-service residential facility for people facing the end of life. But the commitment to providing quality, compassionate care for the dying and bereaved has remained the same.

We understand that coping with terminal illness presents many challenges-physical and emotional-to both the patient and family.
