- In 1984-85, 200 Aloe Vera plants were imported from Australia and planted in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty. These plants of the Barbadensis Miller species, formed the basis for the range of products manufactured by Vital Earth. The first product, a hand cream, using Aloe Vera grown by Vital Earth and cold processed by hand, was released in 1989. It was from these humble beginnings that Vital Earth was born.
