- In 1985, the Lakeshore Record Exchange was being sold by a man who wanted to retire from the store who had established the business over the course of many years. Another entrepreneur (our man Andrew) bought the Lakeshore Record Exchange and has been managing it ever since. In 1995, when the Internet was still new and eCommerce had yet to become a buzzword, Andrew bought the domain name AlternativeMusic.com and designed a site himself to put on the Internet.
