In 1988, Tony Ilacqua made this a reality when he founded Applied Mechanical Technologies, Inc. (AMT) in Rochester, New York. Tony was tired of larger, bureaucratic companies that tied projects up in red tape and didn't give people opportunities to grow. He saw an opportunity for a smaller company that could be more responsive - and much faster - than the competition.
