- Formed in 1973, Amalgamated Marketing Ltd is part of the Amalgamated Dairies Group which has been trading in New Zealand’s primary products for nearly 80 years.
- In 1983, Amalgamated together with Talley's Fisheries Ltd of Motueka formed Amaltal Fishing Co Ltd as a 50/50 partnership. Amaltal grew to be New Zealand's third largest fishing company with a fleet of fillet trawlers and fresh fishers. Amalgamated sold their 50 percent share to Talleys as of February 2005 to give Talleys full ownership of the company.
