Aboriginal Metis Citizens Alliance of Canada (AMCAC) (French Version Pending) The AMCAC is a corporation owned and operated by the Metis Citizens of Canada. The goal of the AMCAC is to unite the Metis people of Canada as one nation. We, the Metis Citizens of the AMCAC define a Metis citizen as a person of mixed blood, part of this blood being North American Aboriginal blood. The Canadian Constitution Act, 1982 Sec. 35(2) identifies the Metis as one of three groups of Aboriginal people in Canada - Metis, Status Indian and Inuit. A nation is composed of citizens, these citizens having rights and privileges as defined by the citizens. Unlike membership, no one is able to deny the rights of any citizen. The Differences between Membership and Citizenship MEMBERSHIP.... The rights and privileges of membership are determined by organizations. They are not recognized under the Constitution of Canada.
