The Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of mosaic art and the advancement of mosaic artists through research, education, and networking.
SAMA was incorporated in February 1999 and has since grown into a significant arts organization with members worldwide. SAMA has thus far been assisted in its development by four grants from the Orangeburg County Fine Arts Center, which is funded by the South Carolina State Arts Commission. This state agency is supported, in turn, by the National Endowment for the Arts. Funding has also been obtained through the Puffin Foundation, charter memberships, and donations. Further assistance has been provided by South Carolina State University.
