American Popular Culture
Description
Excerpted from the website:
- A hearty hello and welcome to Americana: The Institute for the Study of American Popular Culture (1900-present), an academic, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. This Institute is dedicated to the study of American culture and to the publication of the best in American creative writing.
- The first division of four is Magazine Americana featuring op-ed and feature length articles – sometimes whimsical, sometimes funny, sometimes angry – written for a mainstream audience by members of Americana, our Think Tank/Editorial Board, and other select contributors. These writers are not satisfied by observing a cultural phenomenon; rather, they seek to analyze that phenomenon, to answer the eternal question, "Why is it so?" Our hope is that answering this question will lead us to a better understanding of our culture and thus lead us to a better understanding of ourselves.
