- As a longtime college instructor, I have always attributed a 15-year love affair with karaoke as the vehicle for overcoming my fear of public speaking. Now I sing in a band, am learning guitar and can't get enough of bringing my brand of karaoke to audiences large and small. Being a connoisseur of karaoke, I have learned from seeing shows that are superbly done and those that I believe constitute fraud.
