Title edit

Angel August's Abode

Description edit

Excerpted from the website description:

This site is home to my various creative endeavors. It also serves as a working model showcase, and springboard, for my web design/art studio, KayDee Concepts.

Additional Information edit

History and Evolution Angel August's Abode, whose name is derived from a character of mine, started back in Jan. 1999. It was hosted on Geocities, and the only computer languages I knew at the time were some BASIC, which I took in college back in the '80's, and a small amount of HTML. The site would change and grow as it moved around to other free hosts, Tripod, and then to Brinkster. It finally found its way off of the free hosting world in Feb. 2001, when the angelabode.net domain was purchased.

I am self-taught in the field of web design, and I code in plain text editors. I can usually be found using the tried and true, old-school notepad. What started off as a little hobby just for fun, has turned into something more substantial and serious for me. I realized that I wanted to, and possibly could, pursue web design as a part/full-time career. I am always still studying and teaching myself new techniques, learning as I go, and ever evolving.

I am currently in the process of opening up, and trying to get online and running, my own web design/art studio, KayDee Concepts. Tons of work, but something I really want to pursue.

The Current Design/Layout Various JavaScript snippets are used around this site for different functions. Things will work easier, and just simply look nicer with JavaScript enabled on your browser. However, it is not a necessity, and the site will work without it.

All the graphics and coding, besides the flash, were done by me. The image used for this current design was inspired by Blue's love of my long braid, and also by a sketch I saw on Pin-Up Toons . That is how I ended up drawing a 'cartoony' August for this layout. Final coloring and touch-ups of the illustration, and this site's flash works were done by J. C. Corona.

I tried to make this site as accessible as possible. Validating, standards compliant XHTML 1.0 coding, and CSS were used as the foundation. However, older browsers such as NN4.x will not render the CSS properly. I designed for modern browsers, and even the old, outdated, buggy IE6, but I did not see the need to make this site work in defunct browsers that should already be retired.
