Wendy Gabriel

When and how did you first discover you had the gift to help people?
- I’ve always been psychic, but I took the ability for granted, in the same way that most of us take our sense of smell for granted, for example. I always just "knew what I knew" and acted on the knowledge without questioning it. I became interested in developing my psychic abilities when I was pregnant with my daughter in 1999. I could feel myself opening up, expanding, connecting to Source; it was the most beautiful feeling I’d ever experienced. While I was in this phase of growth and connection, someone gave me one of Dr. Virtue’s books; after reading it, I knew that I was supposed to become her student. I’ve been studying under her ever since. Through my work with the angels, I have discovered the joy of helping others connect directly to Source, helping them understand the nature of the Universe, facilitating emotional healings through the angels, ascended masters, archangels, and other Heavenly helpers.
- I started my professional career as a television news anchor and reporter, but quit the business after about a decade because I didn’t like the fear-mongering nature of news. It just didn’t resonate with me. News makes a living promoting fear and making people feel as though their world is not safe. It’s baloney! After leaving television news, I took advantage of my degree in print journalism to write for various newspapers, winning more than a dozen writing awards from the Iowa Newspaper Foundation. I took advantage of the freelance schedule to stay at home with my kids, study various areas of spirituality and metaphysics, and write a few books. Today, in addition to helping other people receive guidance from their angels and teaching workshops helping people learn how to do this for themselves, I own a custom publishing company (Malachite Press, MalachitePress.com, and publish spiritual, religious, and self-help books.
How did you get started in this business?
- Dr. Virtue refers to herself as the "teacher of the teachers" and she really is! I became aware of my need to help others understand their psychic abilities during my training as an ANGEL THERAPY PRACTITIONER®. After I was certified in 2001, it was natural for me to start doing workshops and readings right away. I started out by giving readings to friends and family, and they were so happy with my work that they brought their friends and family members to me.
Do you have any advanced degrees or specialized training?
- Becoming certified as an ANGEL THERAPY PRACTITIONER® involved a week-long all-day training course, writing papers, and doing readings for others. It was a joy-filled process, although not necessarily an easy one. I am also a certified medium and a certified professional spiritual teacher, again, trained by Dr. Virtue.
Do you offer special services or insights that customers might find helpful?
- As a pet psychic, I have helped people find lost pets, look at underlying reasons behind behavior difficulties, and get a sense of what’s going on with animals, physically. Just today, I spoke with a woman who was thinking of buying a horse, but the angels said that the horse had tooth problems and needed medical care (and Reiki!) My client wound up visiting the horse and administering Reiki, but after the tooth problems were confirmed, decided not to buy the animal.
Do you do any charity or non-profit work?
- I am a volunteer with Girl Scouts of America, participate in a non-profit program that goes into public schools and teaches children how to give speeches, and volunteer at the local food bank occasionally. I also participate in river clean-ups during the warm months and am an active member of the Sierra Club’s recycling away from home brigade.
Why do you love what you do?
- There is no greater feeling that swimming in the energy of the angels! Helping the angels as they guide my clients to release longstanding blocks, fears, old, false beliefs – it’s the most blessed work in the world.
What times are you usually available?
- I am usually available during the daytime hours, from about 9 a.m. CST until 3 p.m., and then in the evening, after 8:30 p.m. CST.

- I am really proud of my book, Angel On My Shoulder: Divine Life Wisdom From the World’s Foremost Angel Experts (Malachite Press, 2007).
