- I first picked up a surfboard in 1964 and couldn’t get over the feeling of standing on the board and moving with the ocean. Since then I’ve not found anything to replace the sheer joy of surfing. I have surfed all kinds of surfboards in all kinds of surf conditions in Australia, South Africa, UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Canary Islands, California, Florida, Hawaii, Mexico, Indonesia, Fiji and of course all over New Zealand. The surf conditions and surf locations here are world class and relatively uncrowded.
