- To educate, support, empower and advocate for Asian and Pacific Islander communities — particularly A&PIs living with, or at-risk for, HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1987 as a grassroots response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in communities of color, A&PI Wellness Center is the oldest nonprofit organization in North America focusing on A&PI communities around sexual health and HIV/AIDS services. To meet the needs of our clients who are mostly immigrants or refugees, A&PI Wellness Center staff also speak many Asian languages.
