Aquarium Supplies - Aquarium Supplies & Lighting by AquaLink

Description

AquaLink is an information service for those interested in tropical fish. We have services available for fresh, marine and brackish water fish, as well as aquatic plants and reef systems. This is a new service which made its debut on August 15, 1995. We still have a wealth of information which has not yet been released; most of which has not yet been converted to hyper-text. In the next few months, we will be bringing you many new services and features, as well as some old favorites.

This system was designed and created using a Windows 95 system. The service is operated at http://www.aqualink.com. Our FTP file system is operated at Blarg! Internet services and is available at ftp://ftp.aqualink-too.com. In April 1997, we introduced the latest upgrade to the AquaLink Project with our new graphics server at www.aqualink-too.com. This system is designed to defray some of the burned from aqualink.com, making our main server quicker and more accessible to our international guests.

I am a student at the University of Washington, studying Biochemistry and Oceanography. I first became interested in tropical fish at the age of 10. I gathered and saved all the money I could find--mowing lawns, washing cars, etc..--and bought a 10 gallon starter kit. I didn't know too much about the hobby then, in fact I didn't know anything. So, I walked around the store and bought as many pretty fish as I could find. Some were freshwater and some were marine, but I put them all into the same happy little aquarium. Well, to nobody's surprise I'm sure, the marine fish didn't last too long, and the ones that did became pretty sick looking. But, as long as I was able to feed them (and I did this a lot!), I didn't think much of it. I don't remember exactly what I had, but I do recall your garden variety "child's" community tank. There were sharks, guppies, angelfish and even a clownfish!. Eventually, I began to read more about the hobby and learned a lot of valuable lessons. I soon brought the tank to life by adding some community orientated FRESHWATER! fish and some nice live plants. Later, I bought a 20 gallon community tank and a 45 gallon cichlid tank, both of which I still own and operate. It wasn't until a few years ago when I became interested in marine fish and reef tanks. I now have a 75 gallon mini reef system and all the pieces I need for a 100 gallon reef tank, with the exception of the stand.
