Aquarium Advice was founded in May 2002 by Fishfreek (Aaron) and Reefrunner69 (Kevin) as a website that would be a 'one stop shop' for aquarium help. There are several websites that are exclusive freshwater or exclusive saltwater and there are sites that cater to specifics like Reefs and cichlids or puffers. We both felt that their was a need for a single website where people could come to get advice on an abundance of aquarium setups.

One of our most important concerns is that this website remains child friendly. We go to great effort to make sure all members are aware that this site is and shall remain child friendly. Offenders are quickly dealt with and if need be removed from the site. Remaining child friendly is important to us because we understand that owning aquariums is not simply an adult interest. Kids of all ages are interested in aquariums just as much if not more than most adults. Running a website that allows members of all ages to come together and gain experience in discourse about their tanks and this hobby is one of the main principles that Aquarium Advice was founded under.

With a wide assortment of information presented in different formats we feel that Aquarium Advice as something for everyone regardless of their experience level. All of the staff here at Aquarium Advice feels very strongly about educating the aquatic consumer. This is why our website is under continuous development with more articles and fish profiles being added every month.
