- Night photography has always excited me and has recently become my main focus in photography. Over the past few years I've been learning how different films react with different light sources at night. Every time I shoot, everything is a bit different. In normal every day shooting, one can meter a situation, set the correct settings on their camera and shoot a picture, but with the type of night photography I do, its all guesswork. I typically shoot pictures that last anywhere from one minute to over ten minutes long. I have to learn from my mistakes in order to shoot a picture that has a chance of working. I usually only have about 4 days to shoot each month. Those are typically the days around a full moon, which is once every 28 days. Even in those four days its often difficult to get more than five shots in one night. It's a slow process but the results are worth the wait.
