Additional Information

Third generation of circus artists, Igor first appeared on stage at the age of three. At first he trained under the guidance of his father, renowned artist Yuri Arefiev. Then he attended the Moscow State School of Circus and Variety Arts, where he excelled in various genres, ranging from acrobatics to acting. He graduated with an Honorary diploma.

In the years to follow Igor performed as an acrobat in Russian Swing and Bankin acts, until he found his passion for the High Wire.

As a high wire artist he started with the world renowned Volzhansky Troupe, where he learned the art of balance. Then he joined The Mednikov - one of the best high wire acts, with whom he successfully toured around the world. Igor also performed as a solo high wire artist.

In the course of his career Igor performed many remarkable feats, some of which are unique.

In 1998 he created the high wire act for Cirque du Soleil's production show "La Nouba". The inspiration for the act was an incident that occurred in Manhattan - in 1974 Phillippe Petit stretched a high wire between Twin Towers and walked across. Igor performed at "La Nouba" for seven years.

At the present time Igor is freelancing.
