- I have always had an interest in art. But it was when I met my high school art teacher, Donald Hilton in Kingsport, Tennessee that I knew that this is what I wanted to do with my life. He directed my talent teaching me all the necessary things I needed in order to grow as an artist. I first decided that I would like to teach others so I went to school to receive a degree in art education. I met and married my wonderful husband in 1981. In 1990 we decided to travel with my art and that is what we started doing, first small shows and now going to areas where people really appreciate art, mainly in the Virginia and Maryland and now expanding to the south. For five years I sold my pastels seriously and offered them as lithographs. Now, my work has expanded to watercolors. It was not until I began watercolors that I sold my original paintings. I have often had people ask me about my photographs. I actually start painting where most watercolor artists stop, going back to create the finest detail.
