- In 1967 Jesús ( Suso) and Javier Carbajales built up a ceramics workshop called "Rinconada". Susana Braeckman (Click here to go to Susana Braeckman Site) also starts working in this workshop in different shapes ( plates, vases, murals, etc), but the most outstanding creation was the line of animals, beginning with 25 tender and ingenious models.
- The name of Rinconada comes from the first workshop that Suso and Javier had, which was situated on an alley, and Rinconada is how we call this kind of streets in Uruguay. Since 1967 the works have been signed with the "AR" logo, which is composed of a letter "a" from artesania and a very special "R" made up of a "T" from Taller (workshop) together with an "R" from Rinconada.
