The Eyjafjallajokull (Eyjafjallajökull) volcano in Iceland started an eruption under the Eyjafjallajokull glacier (Iceland’s 5th. largest glacier) on 14th. april 2010 and began to send a gigantic ash cloud south east towards northern and central europe. The volcano is situated 120 km southeast of Iceland’s capital Reykjavik. In march a minor eruption was seen from the same volcano and before that an eruption in 2004.
