- Ashley was born 22 years ago in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is the oldest of 3 girls. Her sisters are Megan (age 21) and Wendy (age 15). Ashley has Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect that required her first open heart surgery at 2 1/2 years of age. Complications arose which resulted in a stroke, causing extensive neurological damage.
