- In the first half 2005 ABN will start operations as a content aggregator and service provider to deliver payTV services called PTV (Personal Television) to South-East Asian densly populated mega metropolitan areas. The service is based on digital terrestrial delivery technology (DTT, DVB-T, DVB-H) which is currently being rolled out very successfully in Europe and other parts of the world. South East Asia is one of the most underserved regions in respect to pay-TV services and it also has a very attractive terrestrial TV penetration rate of more than 90% of the households. South East Asia's large metropolitan areas allow easy and low cost coverage of millions of potential subscribers via digital terrestrial technology and therefore offer the largest possible market potential for very affordable digital terrestrial pay-TV services using low cost end-user equipment.
