edit Description

Established in 1999, the mission of the Autism Asperger Publishing Company (AAPC) is to be the first source for practical solutions related to autism, Asperger Syndrome, and other pervasive developmental disorders. We are an independent publisher, targeting professionals and parents alike. We strive to offer publications at affordable prices so that important resources will not be off limits to anyone with an interest in the autism spectrum.

The Autism Asperger Publishing Company specializes in providing mainstream, hands-on advice and information to parents, educators and others about topics related to autism spectrum disorders. Accordingly, our books are more practical than technical. We are proud of our reputation for publishing only well-written, well-edited books, even when this means turning down authors whose work does not meet our standards. The Autism Asperger Publishing Company seeks out partnerships with support/advocacy groups as a means of enhancing the company's image and developing ties to local markets. We feel that this long-term strategy best supports our goals for growth and profitability, while benefiting other groups and individuals in the process.

Although the Autism Asperger Publishing Company is first and foremost a publisher, the company hosts conferences all over the United States as a means of increasing visibility and promoting its books. We have established partnership relationships with two national agencies, the Asperger Syndrome Coalition of the United States (ASCUS) and MAAP (More Advanced Individuals with Autism, Asperger Syndrome, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder/Not Otherwise Specified). We co-sponsor conferences with these groups and many local groups as well. We have a unique, memorable logo that many people on or near the spectrum can identify with and relate to due to its reference to the sensory problems that challenge many on the autism spectrum. We sell our products both on the worldwide web, through our comprehensive, four-color catalog, at conference, as well as through other resellers.
