The ASQDE is the oldest professional organization of forensic document examiners in the United States. The ASQDE was established in 1942 by Albert S. Osborn and other pioneers in the field. From its inception, the purpose of the Society has been to foster education, sponsor scientific research, exchange experiences, and provide instruction in the field of document examination. It attempts to promote justice in matters that involve disputed documents.
To accomplish these objectives, the Society and its members engage in and encourage scientific research and disseminate the results by presentations at the scientific session of its annual meetings, which is open to members and invited guests.
The ASQDE recognizes and was a co-sponsor of the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners (ABFDE), a certifying organization for forensic document examiners. ASQDE members are located in the United States and Canada, as well as internationally. For more information, please visit www.asqde.org.
