- The founders (TenaciousD, gav and jof) decided that after many years of playing Battlefield 1942 , Wolfenstein, Unreal Tournament and many other FPS (First Person Shooter) titles it was time to form our own clan. Prior to forming the BF1942 clan the 3 of us played the MMORPG Eve Online. This is where the name Asylum Industries and the 3-letter tag ASY originated. Before this time we were regular players of both online and LAN FPS titles.
