The Atari History Museum
Description
The Atari History Museum: Originally established as a Bulletin Board System (BBS) from 1986-1989 the Atari History Museum was original launched in 1995 as an AOL webpage called Atari Vaporwares and Prototypes. In 1997 the site then moved to www.atari.nu as the Atari History Site. Later in 1997 the site moved to its official home at www.atarimuseum.com and formally became the Atari History Museum.
Created and maintained by Curt Vendel, with assistance from Karl Morris, Matt Reichert, and Ken Van Mersbergen, the Atari History Museum has networked with several hundred former Atari employee's over the years, accumulating and presenting a treasure trove in internal information, schematics, drawings, photo's, video's and a showcase of production products as well as a formidable selection of never released prototype hardware.
The Atari Museum has been officially tapped by Atari, Inc. and Curt Vendel actively serves as their consultant on various products, licensing deals and IP litigation.
The Atari Museum website is an eternal Work-in-Progress as it continually presents new, unearthed details about a company and its rich history that captivates and entertains gamers of all ages.
