- Avera St. Luke's (formerly St. Luke's Midland Regional Medical Center)was established in 1901 by the Presentation Sisters. Avera St. Luke's includes a 143-bed hospital, Avera Mother Joseph Manor Retirement Community, a long-term care and congregate apartment complex, and Avera United Clinic, a group medical practice. Avera St. Luke's is JCAHO accredited. Avera St. Luke's has over 1,100 employees in its hospital, long-term care and clinic divisions. Its medical staff includes 76 physicians, representing 26 different specialties. Avera St. Luke's is the regional support center for Avera Health hospitals in Britton, Eureka and Miller, South Dakota, and for clinics in five communities near Aberdeen.
