Dry Burnishing – Applications and Capabilities

Dry Burnishing does exactly what its name implies: performs high speed polishing without liquids such as polishers, cleaners, or rejuvenators. Dry burnishing hardens the finish on the floor and brings out the original shine.

Aztec propane burnishers have higher rpm and increased pad pressure to make that shine last. Our floor machines operate at speeds between 1000 and 3000 rpm and come in a range of sizes from 21 inches to 27 inches.

Spray Buffing – Applications and Capabilities

Spray Buffing is burnishing a floor with the aid of a rejuvenating liquid. To buff the floor in this manner, either spray the polish onto the floor or onto the pad in small areas at a time for ample coverage.

Aztec spray buffers polish floors for a smooth, glossy look while filling in minute scratches. Some liquids contain cleaning agents, which can be used to help remove dirt on lightly soiled surfaces.

Use the maneuverability of Aztec propane burnishers and buffers offset body to achieve superior results for entire floors whether under racks or in corners. Eliminate side torque and dramatically increase head pressure with Aztec’s unique pad angle. Choose from 13 hp to 17 hp and produce respectively 25,000 square feet to 33,000 square feet of burnished and buffed floor per hour. Operators of Aztec propane burnishers and buffers achieve brilliant results at amazing speeds in a variety of industries.

Propane Burnisher and Buffer Quality

Aztec adheres to all aspects of superior performance in our high quality floor buffing machines.

Safety The Aztec Reliant Floor Buffer is approved by both Underwriter Laboratories Inc. (UL) and the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) for meeting rigorous safety requirements set forth by UL and the CGA.

Environment The performance of our exceptional floor buffing machines also meets emission standards set forth by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

UL Approval for Aztec Reliant Buffers Founded in 1984 as a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, Underwriter Laboratories Inc. (UL) works to reduce injury, loss of life, and property damage due to the malfunction of consumer products. UL tests thousands of products, materials, constructions, and electric, fire, and casualty hazards. The UL Mark is one of the most trusted symbols for quality and safety in the world, and is supported by a staff of over 5000 engineers, scientists, chemists, technicians, and field representatives.

Aztec Reliant Buffers have received the UL mark of approval; Aztec customers receive a high-quality product. Our floor machines are superior in buffing and the best in terms of safety. After any product earns the UL mark, however, UL field representatives make unannounced inspections. If these representatives deem that a product no longer complies with the UL standards, the mark of approval is taken away. We work hard to adhere to strict manufacturing standards that ensure that our products are the safest available.

CGA Approval for Aztec Reliant Buffers Since 1913, the Compressed Gas Association has been dedicated to the development and promotion of safety standards in the industrial gas industry. Due to the efforts of the CGA, the gas industry has managed to remain largely self-regulated. More than 200 companies worldwide work together through the committee system. The result is the creation of technical specifications, safety standards, and training and educational materials. The committee works with governmental agencies to formulate responsible regulations and standards. Finally, the CGA promotes compliance with these regulations and standards in the workplace.

Aztec is proud to have all Reliant Buffers approved by the CGA for meeting their safety standards and technical specifications.

Aztec Reliant Buffers Meet CARB Standards The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is the clean air agency of California and the United States. CARB sets stringent standards for air quality while striving to attain and maintain a healthy air quality in addition to finding the causes of air pollution. To look for solutions to air pollution problems, CARB systemically investigates motor vehicles, which are the biggest polluters in the state of California.

Aztec Reliant Buffers meet the clean air standards set forth by CARB. We are proud to offer quality floor buffing machines that protect the environment and provide exceptional propane burnishing and buffing results.

Aztec Reliant Buffers Meet EPA Standards The Environmental Protection Agency is an independent agency of the US government. The EPA was established in 1970 to control and reduce air, water, noise, and radioactive pollution as well as ensure the safe handling and disposal of toxic waste. The EPA engages in research, monitoring, setting, and enforcement of national standards. The EPA supports the anti-pollution activities of states, municipalities, and public and private groups.

Aztec Reliant Buffers meet the emission standards of the EPA and CARB as well as the approval of Underwriter Laboratories and the CGA. Aztec Reliant Propane Buffers are designed and manufactured with the precision and care that leads to superior performance and maximum quality. When Aztec uses words like quality, we’re not just talking about superior and speedy performance for an economical price: we mean the overall safety quality and environmental friendliness.

Operation for Floor Machines

A. Make sure to install the appropriate pad for either burnishing or buffing. B. Start engine (see preparation) with machine tilted so that the buffer pad is off the floor. C. Engage clutch immediately. D. Follow machine (straight ahead) at moderate walking speed. Keep moving.

Do not operate the machine in one location for more than a few seconds – it will damage – "burn" the finish. Do not disengage the clutch but leave the engine running for more than 30 seconds. Disengaging can damage the clutching belt. When new belts are installed there is a "breaking in" period which entails several hours of use during which time the clutch may not fully disengage. Contact with floor should stop rotation. Never tilt the floor machine back when the engine is running. E. Always keep both hands on the handles when operating the floor buffer. F. Check the floor-buffing pad at set intervals and change if necessary.

When you are finished, follow the instructions found in Burnishing and Buffing Machine Maintenance. Proper floor machine maintenance improves the effectiveness as well as the life of the floor buffer or burnisher.

WARNING: If problems occur at any point during preparation and operation, refer to the owner’s manual or contact an Aztec service representative.

Propane Burnisher and Buffer Maintenance

Floor Buffing Pad Maintenance After buffing is complete, remove the floor-buffing pad from the machine. Gently wash either by hand or in the delicate cycle of a washing machine and then hang to dry. Washing in a regular cycle or drying in a machine can damage the floor pad and result in a high rate of unnecessary replacement. Do not leave a pad on the machine or the next floor buffing will not result in clean floors. Finally, when necessary, replace the floor buffing pad.

Storage and Care for Floor Machines’ Propane Tanks Propane tanks for the floor buffing machine may be over-filled to unsafe levels. If propane tanks are overfilled, operators should vent by using a screw driver in a well-ventilated area that is away from all sources of heat or open flame. Propane escapes as a white mist and should be allowed to escape until the escaping gas turns clear. When tanks are not in use during floor burnishing or buffing, they should be removed from the inside of the building. Store tanks in a secure area that is well ventilated and not near any sources of heat or open flame such as heater rooms, boilers, or gas-fired water heaters. In addition, ensure that any other objects that are in storage with the tanks are not likely to fall and cause damage to tanks’ metal hulls.

Engine Maintenance Meter The engine maintenance meter helps prevent mechanical malfunction and increase fuel economy and engine life. Aztec implements the maintenance meter in the Reliant Buffer and Burnisher to ensure that operators can easily use preventative maintenance.

Concrete Polishing & Grinding Equipment

Diamond Shine The Diamond shine uses 12 Diamond cups mounted on 3 polishing heads to produce an aggressive mirror-like finish. The counter-rotational planetary drive rotates at 1200 rpm, on a gimballed solid steel main head. With it's main head counter rotating at 250 rpm, it delivers unmatched aggressiveness with zero side torque, even on uneven floors.

Carpet Maintenance Equipment

The Hot Spotter By far The Hot Spotter is the most ideal tool for Auto Detailing, Commercial and Household Carpet and Upholstery cleaning. A valuable tool to have as part of your total floor maintenance program.

The Hot Rod Carpet Detailer Most soil not picked up by a vacuum cleaner is bonded to the carpet by some type of oil or grease. When subjected to high temperature cleaning solution these oily soils are more easily removed.
