I have kept mammals since my mid-teens but did not get my first chinchilla (a lovely standard grey called Gizmo) until 1990. In 1992 I bred my first kit who I still own to this day (together with his 17 year old father).
I have written on chinchilla health issues for the CFPNP Rescue's magazine in the mid nineties - before the days of internet (now sadly no longer published). I now currently write for Fur & Feather Magazine on all chinchilla-related topics. This involves a lot of research, as well as referring to my own experiences, which I find of great interest.
I have been a member of The National Chinchilla Society UK since 1996 and I enjoy showing some of the chinchilla's I breed, with moderate success.
