Back Pain Cause
For most people with back pain, there is no specific underlying problem or condition that can be identified as the back pain cause.
There are however a number of factors that may increase your risk of developing back pain or worsen it once you have it.
These include:
• standing, sitting or bending down for long periods
• lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling loads that are too heavy, or go about these tasks in the wrong way
• have a trip or a fall
• to be stressed or nervous
• overweight
• have poor posture
There may be other, more serious underlying causes of your low back pain, but these are rare.
They include:
• fracture - a crack or break in a bone in his back
• osteoporosis - a condition in which bones lose density causing them to become weak, brittle and more prone to break
• a slipped disc - this is when a disc bulges so far out that it puts pressure on your spinal nerves
• Spinal stenosis - a condition where the rooms in your spine narrow
• spondylolisthesis - when one of the back bone from sliding forward and out of position
• degenerative disc disease - when the discs in your spine to gradually wear down
• Osteoarthritis - a wear and tear disease that may particularly affect the joints of the spine
• Rheumatoid arthritis - an inflammatory condition where your immune system causes inflammation in the lining of your joints and surrounding structures
Lower Back Pain can also be caused by an infection or cancer, but these two causes are very rare.
However Spinal deformities, including curvature problems such as severe scoliosis or kyphosis need a back pain treatment.
Compression fractures. These are more common in women after menopause and osteoporosis in men or women after long-term use of corticosteroids.
In a person with osteoporosis, even a small amount of force placed on the spine, such as from a sneeze can cause a compression fracture.
