- Bay Area Colon and Rectal Surgeons, AMC was established when Dr. Samuel C. Oommen joined Dr. Yorke G. Jacobson in 1987. After twenty six illustrious years in private practice, Dr. Jacobson retired in 1989. Since taking over the practice, Dr. Oommen has served in the capacity of Chairman of Department of Surgery, President of the Medical Staff, and as a Physician Director of the John Muir/Mt. Diablo Health System Board of Directors. Dr. Oommen is a Diplomat of the American Boards of Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal for his services rendered to the United States Air Force.
