Recent government proclamations have raised the profile of employee abuse and employers' violations of basic laws. So far, this has made little or no difference to the average worker. On daily basis, and with total impunity, employers are dismissing employees without cause, illegally holding employee passports, withholding salary, violating labor laws and contracts and generally abusing their staff. When employees seek remedy through the law, they are threatened, blackmailed and abused.
