Barbeque Seasoning and Rub by Mr. Roger

Over the years I have done a lot of grilling. I have never liked barbecue sauces because they are messy, and they make everything stick to the grill. Most of them also contain sugar, which burns easily and to me are way too sweet. With this in mind I decided to try to put together my own dry seasoning and rub mix.

I started all this back in 1978. It took me about 6 months to come up with a mixture that was to my liking. The taste was great, not too sweet, and as a bonus, I no longer had to clean up the "sauce mess". As friends came by to visit for cookouts, my new seasoning mix was becoming very popular with everyone. At that time grilled turkey tenders were a big hit.

As time went on, I experimented more with the seasoning, and started using it on chicken, ribs, and wild game. I also found it was great for mixing with flour to use as a batter for frying chicken and fish. I also bought a dehydrator, and started making jerky, a favorite of everyone.
