Title

The Bone Research Society

Description

The new name was adopted on 6 July 2005, following the Annual General Meeting and a postal ballot of members. The BRS is the largest scientific society in Europe dedicated to clinical and basic research into mineralised tissues, and is the oldest such society in the world.

Meetings are held annually, attracting a wide audience from throughout the UK and, increasingly, from continental Europe. The presentations are traditionally balanced between clinical and laboratory studies. They are published in abstract form in Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, the leading journal in the field, (impact factor 6.3). The participation of young scientists and clinicians is actively encouraged.

To act as the main professional body for scientists and physicians researching calcified tissues, and to interact with other organisations on these matters.
